My "Dawud Wharnsby" CDs just arrived...wohooo!!!

Last week, I ordered 2 of Dawud Wharnsby's albums via online portal http://www.belovedstore.com/ , each CD costing A$30. That is about S$60++ totally.

Some may ask, why go through all the trouble? Aren't his albums on sale in most Islamic bookshops here? Also, isn't A$30 per CD a bit too expensive?

My answers:

  1. Only his Islamic nasheed albums are on sale here. Nobody I know imports his folk-rock albums into Singapore.
  2. A portion of the online sale go to 'Small Kindness' a charity organization started by Yusuf Islam, so I don't really mind forking out S$60++ for my 2 CDs.

On another note, you may like to know that we work very closely with Yusuf Islam's charity Small Kindness, wherein a percentage of all our profit goes towards helping orphans and widows in particular in the Balkans, Iraq, Indonesia, Sudan and more recently Kashmir. This effort is heavily affected when the general public make illegitimate copies of our product rather than purchasing originals. Please help prevent this cycle by directing friends and family to us that we may better advise them that they may help support us in our cause to contribute towards alleviating suffering for orphans and widows as best as we can. For more information on Small Kindness please visit www.smallkindness.org.
